Second bar that burns in Canyon Lake has some thinking conspiracy

A second commercial fire in the Canyon Lake Towne Center in as many days has residents of the gated community on edge and has conspiracy theories abounding.

Is it the work of a firebug or competition, the center of a political conspiracy or just a tragic coincidence?

A fire early Saturday scorched the front of the Lake House bar located on the east side of the shopping center, where almost a day earlier a five-alarm fire destroyed eight businesses in the rear of the center, causing $3 million in damage and injuring two firefighters

Vatican teaching Hezbollah how to kill Jews, says pamphlet for IDF troops

The Pope and the cardinals of the Vatican help organize tours of Auschwitz for Hezbollah members to teach them how to wipe out Jews, according to a booklet being distributed to Israel Defense Forces soldiers.

Officials encouraging the booklet's distribution include senior officers, such as Lt. Col. Tamir Shalom, the commander of the Nahshon Battalion of the Kfir Brigade.

The booklet was published by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, in cooperation with the chief rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu, and has been distributed for the past few months.

The booklet, titled "On Either Side of the Border," purports to be the testimony of "a Hezbollah officer who spied for Israel."

Suit Alleges Apple in Bed With the Mafia

In a bizarre story over at Ars Technica that seems like the plot of a terrible mafioso movie, a man named Gregory McKenna is claiming that Apple knowingly colluded with the Mafia (and various governmental agencies) to help them threaten him with death via his iPod mini. According to McKenna, it is apparently fairly standard practice for Apple to add receivers and transmitters to its portable media players as a special service for organized crime.

Conspiracy theories abound at Gold Cup

Canadian national team goalkeeper Greg Sutton was blogging for CBCSports.ca during the CONCACAF Gold Cup. This is his final entry.

I thought about how I was going to write my final blog and how to approach it. There's only one way and it's a conspiracy theory, so please bear with me.

I'm sure most of you saw the game this past weekend where we lost 1-0 to Honduras in the quarter-finals of the back of the net. It was a game where we played well, but just couldn't find the back of the net. Honduras scored when they were awarded a penalty kick in the first half, which, in my eyes and in most fans' views, was not a penalty. And that is where my conspiracy continues.

Moon Landing Conspiracy Theories and Whoopi Goldberg

The conspiracy theory that the Apollo moon landings were a hoax, fake in a studio somewhere, has its first Hollywood celebrity proponent. According to Debbie Schlussel, Whoopi Goldberg announced her doubts on July 20th airing of The View.
